74th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting

Dr.-Ing Simon Binder selected for the 74th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting

Dr.-Ing. Simon Binder participated as a young investigator at this year's Nobel Laureate Meeting in Lindau at Lake Constance. For a whole week, 33 Nobel Laureates convene with more than 600 young scientists from all over the world in Lindau. At the meeting, the Nobel Laureates shape the scientific programme with their topical preferences.

This year's Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting focused on the natural science discipline of chemistry. The formats of the varied scientific programme are based on the principle of dialogue and to activate the exchange of knowledge, ideas, and experience between Nobel Laureates and Young Scientists. As a result, the meetings provide the opportunity to experience both the professional and the personal side of the Nobel Laureates. Since their foundation in 1951, the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings have developed into a unique international scientific forum. The annual Meetings provide an opportunity for an exchange between different generations, cultures and disciplines. They inspire scientific generations and build sustainable networks of young scientists around the world. Lindau Young Scientists represent the next generation of leading scientists and researchers. To participate in a meeting, they must pass a multi-stage nomination and selection process. Dr.-Ing. Simon Binder was nominated by the Klaus Tschira Foundation. The Klaus Tschira Foundation promotes natural sciences, mathematics, and computer science, with a focus on research, education, and science communication.

Since the beginning of 2025, Dr.-Ing. Simon Binder is leading the young investigator group “Soft Sensorics” funded through the Carl Zeiss Foundation at the Institute of Microtechnology (IMTEK) and the Center for BrainLinks-BrainTools at the University of Freiburg.
