Studying in Germany?

In March 2025, the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Freiburg was represented at international university fairs in Colombia and Peru - with the aim of attracting qualified and motivated students from Latin America to study in Freiburg. The trade fair appearances were organized by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) as part of a delegation trip by German universities.

The fair took place in Bogotá, Bucaramanga, Medellín and Lima. Interest in studying in Germany was remarkably high at all locations. The English-language courses offered by the Faculty of Engineering in Engineering and Computer Science were particularly popular.

The personal exchange with prospective students on site is an important part of the faculty's internationalization strategy. The aim is to inform young talents from all over the world about study opportunities, research profiles and prospects in Germany at an early stage - and thus attract them to study at the University of Freiburg in the long term.

Even after the fairs, the faculty remained in contact with many interested parties and continued to provide information about applications, course content and life in Freiburg.
