About Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Stieglitz:
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Stieglitz Thomas Stieglitz is a neuro engineer and professor at the University of Freiburg since 2004. He works at the interface between implantable microsystems and the nervous system and does not only focus on engineering but also on societal and ethical aspects of this research. He is currently managing director of the department of microsystems-IMTEK, co-spokesperson of the BrainLinks-BrainTools Center //IMBIT and spokesperson of the reseach profile „signals of life“ at the University of Freiburg. He was awarded Fellow ot the IEEE in 2022. He is co-founder of the neurotech companies CorTec and neuroloop. Prior he was with the Fraunhofer-Insitute of Biomedical Engineering in St. Ingbert/Saar. He holds a habilitation and PhD degree of the Saarland Unversity and a Dipl.-Ing. degree of the University of Karlsruhe (now: KIT).
