Confirmation of the Junior Professorship of Dr. Çağlar Ataman

Dr. Çağlar Ataman was confirmed on October 31, 2025, as a Junior Professor at the Department of Microsystems Engineering (IMTEK) of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Freiburg, effective December 1, 2025, for an additional two years. During this period, he will continue to lead his research group, which develops novel micro-optical platform technologies for biomedical imaging.

His research focuses, among other areas, on ultra-miniaturized, multimodal endomicroscopes for point-of-care diagnostics, as well as on adaptive optics using optofluidic systems to correct wavefront aberrations in microscopy.

The extension of his Junior Professorship underscores the confidence in his achievements to date and the potential of his research to sustainably strengthen the department’s teaching and scientific output.
