New Dean: Prof. Dr. Roland Zengerle
Since October 1, 2021, Prof. Dr. Roland Zengerle, Department of Microsystems Engineering is become Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. He takes over the office from his precursor Prof. Dr. Rolf Backofen, Department of Computer Science.

The Faculty of Engineering
The Faculty of Engineering consists of the Department of Computer Science, the Department of Microsystems Engineering and the Department of Sustainable Systems Engineering. Founded in 1995, it represents the eleventh and thus the youngest faculty of the University of Freiburg. 2000 students, 50 professors, and about 450 research and technical associates shape its future.
