German Physical Society honors physicist at INATECH

The German Physical Society presents its highest awards, the Max Planck Medal and the Stern-Gerlach Medal, as well as 14 other awards for different physical disciplines and categories.

This year's Hertha Sponer Prize will be awarded to Dr. Juliane Borchert from the Department of Sustainable Systems Engineering (INATECH) at the University of Freiburg. The physicist is being honored for her outstanding scientific contributions to understanding the processes for highly efficient perovskite solar cells. Her innovative approach of combining gas phase deposition and photoluminescence enables the targeted optimization of perovskite layers in novel tandem solar cells.
